If Trixie only masters turning things into tea cups, her magic shows could get a bit surreal.

Suddenly, a wild episode appears! What do you do? Y'know, there are only three episodes left to complete the season, and it seems that they've all been broadcast or leaked somewhere. Today, you can blame Canada -- apparently Treehouse broadcast episode 24 this morning. Since I won't get those quality download links until after the episode has been broadcast on Discovery Family in the US, I'll wait until next Saturday to put up an 'Episode Discuss' post. Might be Saturday after next, the Pony Countdown clock is reading 12 days to go. Whenever, but in the meantime, should you want some brain candy before hitting the hay (or before work, or during lunch break... your time zone may vary), you can watch episode 24: Uncommon Bond on DailyMotion, here. Hmmm, sounds seems good! Watch it before a bot eats it!

So Many Updates

So I've been sick for almost a month, and I guess I updated here and there about it, but now I can finally say I'm doing well. I still have a lasting cough, but even that is intermittent. Three weeks ago, my favorite Gordon Ramsay show, Hell's Kitchen premiered it's All-Star season, and if I thought the regular seasons were drama filled, you should see the drama from veterans of the show. It's...whoo!

I've been watching the show Inhumans after Hell's Kitchen, and while I know from a quality stand point there are some things that could be improved, I love the character development we're getting. Being as with my own writing I'm always striving to have my characters come into their own, seeing such strong characters do that on screen is encouraging. Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to get more than a season, and there's only so much you can do in one season without making the quality worse.

I will say that the actor I am most impressed with is the one that plays the character I hate the most. That guy Iwan Rheon is brilliant. I first encountered him in Misfits, a British show about a different type of mutants. In that show he played a completely different character. In Inhumans, he's the antagonistic younger(?) brother of Black Bolt, and he's kinda a dick. Ugh. But he does it SO well. I can almost forget that in Misfits he turns out to be a hero. I love versatile actors like that. Maximus (the character he plays in Inhumans)? Not so much.

Yesterday was intersting. Being as it was Friday the 13th, I wasn't expecting much beyond my signed copy of Turtles All the Way Down by John Green to show up on my doorstep. Instead I went to Wal-Mart with Daddy C and got Subway. But that really wasn't the highlight. The highlight was beginning work on a completely different story idea from Witch School and Fanfiction.

Its a Zombie apocalypse story, but it's more a story about surviving. It involves six students who, while retrieving what was left of their belongings after a fire getting sealed into their school when a manadatory fumigation is ordered. They end up somehow tunneling under ground, and in doing so, develop their own colony. It needs work, and I'm prepared to put the time into it. But it will be a side project to Witch School.

In case anyone is wondering, this is the third story idea to come to me via a dream. The first one became Transitions. The second one is Witch School (give or take a few details).

Oh! Today is the first Splatfest I'm participating in since Splatoon 1 stopped theirs. I'm so excited, but I need to get some actual writing done before I go mental. We'll see how well this writing goes.

In the interest of Being Excellent and considerate of those who plan to watch this episode, all references to the content of this episode are stashed under the cut and will remain so hidden for at least a month. Someponies like to watch MLP:FIM in herds and it can be a while before they get all their ponies together. 8^) As spoilers are also likely to be in any comments: don't read if you haven't yet seen the episode unless you like being spoiled. When you're ready, drop in a comment and say what you thought of this episode!

After a month, I hope Episode Discuss posts will be so far off the top page that it'll probably take the tag to find them, so about a month after posting the cut will be removed. 8^) Sometimes I go back and drop in little extras into the posts, like comics and links to the music.

Broadcast starts at 11:30 am Eastern Daylight Savings Time, which should work out to 4:30 pm UTC, 8:30 am PST and maybe about 11:30 PM Down Under. Confused? Look at the PonyCountdown widget on the community page! At the moment there are just 5 hours left to go.

Written by Josh Hamilton.

For those of you following Twitter, you can follow writers Nick Confalone (Hearthbreakers), Mike and Will Fox (The Gift of the Maud Pie), Joanna and Kristine (Gauntlet of Fire), Dave Polsky (Rarity Takes Manehattan) and Jennifer Skelly (Buckball Season). Other twits in the early morning chorus may include the likes of Meghan McCarthy, Jayson Thiessen (Supervising Director of MLP:FIM), Andrea Libman , the voice of Dragon Lord Ember Ali Milner, Big Jim (storyboard work, voice of Troubleshoes and Director of MLP:FIM), Mike Vogel and Josh Haber. The hashtag to watch should be #MLPseason7.

I'm working on being more active online. I spend so much time online but I'm always quiet as hell. xD Remember my good old days of random posts? I need to go back to that. =B

Lessee... I'm at 16 out of 25 books for the Goodreads reading challenge. Um......! 11 of them are manga. /o\ At this point I'm not even gonna fight it. ALSO, why is Stephen King's IT so goddamn longggggggg??? I will finish it before the end of 2017 but hot damn. xD (I never read it before so.)

I'm back to reading the Teppu manga, btw. Woo! (I'm, already, debating what to manga to read next. I'm torn between Akuma no Riddle and Hanakaku. I saw the Akuma no Riddle anime a while back but I always wanted to check out manga. (And I guess at this point it would be a good refresher... And I want more Haruki/Isuke, okay? Jeeze, talk about twisting my arm... xDD ) But Hanakaku sounds really good! =S

Ah and does anyone watch Fear the Walking Dead? Cuz I'm so disappointed they killed off a character I really like in the recent episode and I need someone to be angry and disappointed with. xD (ALSO, Channel Zero: No End House! WUUUUT???!)

As for games, Town of Salem has been frustrating lately. I've had a lot of false accusations against myself in the first TWO DAYS get me hung lately. FRUSTRATING.

Oh, and concerts! I wanna go to a music concert in February! I'll prob have to go alone tho. =( Peeps don't like my music. (It's just rock but I'm greatly alone in my alt rock/rock love at home.)

Also, I applied for FAFSA earlier. I accidentally submitted before checking it thoroughly. crap. Hoping I can edit it soon. I applied for next fall. I thought of applying for spring but meh, I rather wait it out til fall. I'm still not sure if I should do part time or full time college. It's going to kill me either way. rip me. x.x;

Challenge 046:
Also known as iron pyrite, fool's gold is a gold-colored mineral that is often mistaken for real gold. Fool's gold is also a common term used to describe any item which has been believed to be valuable to the owner, only to end up being not so.

Write a story where someone values (either knowingly or unknowingly) something that doesn't actually have a tangible worth.

BONUS GOAL: Three's Company

If your submission is written in three separate scenes, that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!

Challenge ends Monday, October 23 at 9:00PM EST
• Post your submission as a new entry using the template in the profile
• Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 046 - fool's gold

Claus Studios has posted many of the end title illustrations that they had produced for the movie. Check it out here. All that text and eye candy flies by pretty fast but I think I spotted the word "bronies" up at the beginning. [edit: After seeing the film a second time, I think I must have imagined that.]

Sia's MLP Movie Song, With Lyrics

frith: White cartoon pony on a couch; record player (FIM Rarity music)
[personal profile] frith posting in [community profile] ponyville_trot

This very nice and unlisted video is an exclusive for a bit produced by Entertainment Tonight, which you can read here. What I like the most is that the lyrics are in the video and I can finally figure out what Songbird Serenade is singing. She mumbles a wee bit. So, it is a good song! Who knew?

I'd say that the video does not spoil the film even though the song and the animated characters in the video are taken straight from the movie. The song doesn't reflect the story, unless in some sort of abstract way, and the characters are silent and stripped of backdrops and context. The video does give away the artistry of the animation and you get a peek at who the characters in the film are, but not the roles they play.

(By the way, some weeks ago Google threw in a patch that, while it doesn't allow old embed codes for YouTube videos to play, it does throw in an image from the video and a link to the video on YouTube. It's better than a kick in the pants. It's also better than the other option I'd considered, which was to host a screen-grab from a video, post that and use it as link to YouTube. That would be a pain in the rear.)
